honey-basil syrup

Honey syrup is very similar to simple syrup, but switch the honey and sugar in the 1:1 ratio.

FOR THIS RECIPE, YOU WILL NEED:

.5 cup honey

.5 cup water

8 big basil leaves

Saucepan

Spoon

Strainer

Put all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Let boil for 1-2 minutes, then reduce to a simmer for 10 minutes. Pour mixture through a strainer and discard the solids. This recipe will be enough for about 6 cocktails. If you plan to drink more, double it! Or more! Syrup will always taste better when fresher, but will keep for up to 2 weeks in the fridge.
